After making several attempts to score only to be thwarted by the Weston defensive effort, #4 Converse finally managed to push the winning run across in the bottom of the tenth inning to take a 3-2 victory and advance to the Class B state baseball tournament. The loss ruined what would have been the first time in history that Quitman and Weston would have played each other in the semi-finals of state competition.
Converse won on a two out, walk off double to left field after a walk and an error, the final of four made on the day, gave the Wildcats runners on first and second. The score broke a 2-2 tie that had stood since the fifth inning.
The Wolves fell behind in the bottom of the third after a single brought home a Converse runner who hd reached by getting hit and advanced to second on a wild pitch. A Weston error and a walk loaded the bases where a balk brought the second run of the inning home.
Weston tied it in the top of the fifth when Davis Tolar singled home Colton Blundell and Kaden Shirley who had walked and singled and advanced to second and third on a wild pitch. Two Converse pitchers struck out 13 Wolves and allowed only four hits in the contest, three which came in the fifth inning and one more in the seventh, which is the last inning Weston had a runner on base.

Ben that is a terrible write up and a worst picture! You do better work than this!
Sincerely
Talton
Had 30 minutes to get the story published due to game being late. Only pic I could find. Sorry you weren’t pleased.
