James Speicher
May 28, 1943 – May 9,2022

jamesJames Guy Speicher, age 78 of Quitman, made his way through Heaven’s gates on Monday, May 9, 2022. Jim was born and grew up in Beach City, Ohio with his parents and his siblings, Bob, Jerry and Rose. He played all sports in high school and worked at many jobs. After high school he was drafted into the United States Army for two years and served his country in Vietnam. When his service was completed he came to Louisiana to go to college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. During this time he met his wife, Linda and they were married in 1967. They had two girls, Tricia and Holly. Jim moved his family to Jonesboro in 1984. He worked for Willamette for thirty years until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and he loved to fish on Kepler Lake with his dogs. They always fished together, he took his dogs wherever he went.

Jim is survived by his wife, Linda Speicher of Jonesboro; two daughters, Holly McMurray and Jody of Kepler Lake, Tricia Hummer of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Haley Walker and Ryan of Ruston, Harley Walker of Ruston; brother, Jerry Speicher and Jan of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Mary Speicher; brother, Robert Speicher; sister, Rosella Heck.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 9:30AM in Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home chapel until time of service. Funeral services are set to begin at 10:00AM with Reverend Stuart Toms officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery near Jamestown, Louisiana under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Adam Greer, Jody McMurray, Ryan Stassen, Corey Creamer, Kylan Blair. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Cryer, Jim Roy, Bill King.

 

Robert “Bobby” Caskey
February 24, 1952 – May 8, 2022

caskeyMr. Robert “Bobby” Caskey, age 70 of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 following a period of declining health. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many people. Mr. Caskey enjoyed hunting, Nascar Racing, occasional fishing and mostly loved spending time with the family and the grandchildren. There were not many times that you could find Mr. Caskey without a Dr. Pepper in his hand.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Kathy (Turman) Caskey; son, Eddie Caskey and wife Angie, daughter Tracy Lowery and husband Shane, son Keith Caskey and wife Rose; grandchildren, Jaydn Rogerson, Oren Caskey, Kimberly Lowery, Luke Lowery, Emery Caskey, Kyptin Caskey; great grandchildren, Aubree Lowery, Beau Rogerson; brother, Rickey Caskey and wife Susan; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Caskey was preceded in death by his parents, James Alva Caskey and Addie Mae (McMillan) Caskey; brother, Jr. Caskey.

Friends may visit with the family 11:00am ~ 1:00pm Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in the chapel of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at 1:30pm in the Ebenezer Cemetery near Jonesboro with Minister Michael Hurst officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Oren Caskey, Emery Caskey, Kyptin Caskey, Bo Watson, Luke Lowery, Richard Lowery. Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Stuckey, Matt Holley.

Reggie Lee Horton
September 23, 1939 – May 03, 2022

hortonMr. Reggie Lee Horton, age 82 of Quitman, Louisiana, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Mr. Horton served in the United States Navy from 1957 until 1962. He was an avid gardener and loved tending his vegetables every spring and summer. He was also an amateur genealogist and an accomplished wood-worker. Mr. Horton loved his family unconditionally, and he enjoyed spending time with his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Cindy Cross and Jerry, Kimberly Bell, Robin Nausbum and David, Keith Horton and Robin, Teresa Hibbit and Ronnie, Tony Hughes and Brandy; brother, Wayne Horton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Smith) Horton; second wife, Mavis (Hughes) Horton; parents, Delmon Lee and Nellie Ethel (Anderson) Horton; and sister, Doris (Horton) Wingert.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 6, 2022 in the Southern/Edmonds chapel. Burial followed at the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery near Quitman, under the direction of Southern/Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers were Mr. Horton’s grandsons, D.J. Bowers, Johnathon Bowers, Michael Horton, Scottie Lane, Jonathan Taylor, T.J. Weed, and Chris Moss.
