It is never a good thing when a person has an auto accident. Yet if there was ever any good news that could come out of one, it took place around 12:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon. That was when an unidentified individual in a black SUV inexplicably ran off the road just in front of the guard rail on the overpass of Hwy 167 North.
Fortunately the vehicle came to a stop at the top of the bridge embankment after getting caught up on some small pine trees averting what could have been a potentially disasterous descent down the steep slope.
No injuries were reported in the accident but northbound traffic was brought to standstill for a short period of time as the Jonesboro Police Department blocked lanes to allow for the auto to be removed from the scene.
