William Baer Allwell, Sr.
April 9, 1942 – October 7, 2022

baerWilliam B. Allwell, Sr., age 80 of Jonesboro, ascended to his Heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 7, 2022. He was a loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather. William work for and retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation. He will be remembered as a hard worker that took great care of his family. The love he had for his family kept them all bonded together. William loved to have fun and was known to be a bit of a prankster. In his free time he enjoyed spending time fishing and squirrel hunting.

Those left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Donice (Lancaster) Allwell of Ferriday; children, William Allwell, Jr. of Winnsboro, Blaine Allwell of Gaars Mill, Elizabeth Truelove (Joe) of Chatham, Amy Allwell of Clinton, MS; grandchildren, Joshua Allwell of Winnfield, China Ficher of Winnfield, Slade Allwell of Winnsboro, Nicholas Truelove of Chatham, Danielle Truelove of Chatham, Chloe Truelove of Chatham, Cheyenne Truelove of Chatham; great grandchildren, Jackson, Aiden, Madeline; sister, Sherry Reech (Rodney) of Moreauville; a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Tristan and Avis Ann (Fisher) Allwell, siblings, Everett Tristan Allwell, Jr., Verda Gertrude Anderson.

Friends may visit on Monday, October 10, 2022 in the chapel of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home from 5:00PM ~ 8:00PM. Funeral services are set for Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Hodge Baptist Church at 10:00AM with Bro. Bruce Cardin officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Albert Shavers, Matt Truelove, Kenny Henderson, Tony James, Nicholas Truelove, Blaine Allwell, Joe Truelove.
