It’s Fall Sports Picture Day for both the Junior High and High School athletes at Quitman High on Wednesday, October 12th. Pictures will be taken for those participating in Basketball, Fishing, Cheer and Cross Country for both Junior High and High School athletes as well as Junior High Baseball and Softball. Senior banner pictures for all sports and Yearbook Senior Portrait make up pictures will be able to be taken as well. REMINDER! – Have all uniforms and/or equipment you need as no phone calls will be allowed to bring your items.
Ag Students get Hunter Education Certification
QHS students participating in Ag 1 classes completed their Hunters Education certification by participating in a range day yesterday held at the Top Shot Shooting Facility, located at 136 Lowery Rd in Quitman. Special thanks go to Mr. Bob Davis and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries (LDWF) for providing everything needed.
Juniors and Seniors tour Westrock
Members of the Senior and Junior class were able participate in a tour of the WestRock mill in Hodge. Sponsored by the QHS FFA, the tour was very informative and provided the students with more insight into what is considered Jackson Parish’s chief economic driver.
Fall Fesitval on Friday, October 14th
The administration and staff at QHS invites you to join for a night of fun as the annual Autumn Fall Festival will take place on Friday, October 14th. The festivities will begin with the Wolverine Grill opening at 5:00pm followed by games and events running from 5:30 – 8:00pm, highlighted by an opportunity to enjoy the Mindwinder Ride. Addtional attractions include a Haunted House, Train Ride, Bingo, Rock Climbing Wall, Cake Walk, Spirit Store, Basket Raffle, Cow Drop Bingo and shopping at the Country Store.

Junior High Baseball / Softball to play Thursday
The Quitman Junior High baseball team will throw the first pitch of their 2022 Fall Schedule this Thursday, October 13th, when they host Castor at the Jackson Parish Recreation Department Sports Complex. Game time is set for 5:00pm
The girls softball team will also be in action on Thursday when they play play the back end of a home and home series with Claiborne Christian. OIn Tuesday, QJH was on the road but will host the Thursday contest to be played at Quitman High School beginning at 5:30 pm.
