Junior High Recap: Fall Season winding down for local baseball/softball teams

It seems like the fall baseball and softball seasons for the junior high programs at Quitman and Weston just got started but by next Monday, all the teams except the Quitman Junior High baseball team will have played their last game of the year. See below for schedule of upcoming games this week.

Tuesday, October 25th: 
Weston Softball at Castor (2 games): vs Castor @ 4:00pm. vs Doyline @ 5:00pm
Quitman Softball at Choudrant – 5:30pm
Quitman Baseball vs Ruston – 5:00pm

Thursday, October 27th:
Weston Baseball vs Red River at Choudrant – 6:45pm
Quitman Softball vs Red River – 5:00pm

Friday, October 28th
Quitman Softball (2 games): vs Lakeside @ 3:30pm, vs Benton @5:30pm

Recap of season to date: 

Quitman Softball: Currently QJH sits with an area best 11-0 record. If they win their final five games the junior high girls will complete a rare sweep of going undefeated in both basketball and softball this fall. 
Quitman Baseball: The young Wolverines are 1-2-1 on the year to date. Losses were to Choudrant and Claiborne Christian by 6-2 and 6-3 scores sandwiched by a 2-2 tie with Weston and an 11-0 victory over Castor. Six games are left on their fall schedule, which won’t be completed until November 14th.
Weston Softball: The season started with a pair of losses to Quitman and one to Saline followed by wins over Simsboro, Doyline and Calvin.  The 9-4 loss to CCS this past Tuesday left the slate at 3-4 with three games to play. 
Weston Baseball: Two games were played at Choudrant on October 6th, including a 2-2 tie with Quitman. The Wolves also swept a pair against Calvin on October 13th. Both the Oct. 27th and Oct. 31st games against Red River and Claiborne Christian  will be played at Choudrant.
