On March 16th, nineteen (19) Gifted and Talented students from Jonesboro-Hodge High School, Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School, Quitman School and Weston School visited the  Jackson Parish Museum and Fine Arts Association (JPMFAA).

Orchestrated by the Jackson Parish Chamber of Commerce (JPCC), the outing which included a pizza lunch, was in appreciation for the G/T’s performances at the Christmas open house and early morning Christmas video.

JPMFAA Board President Barbara Johnson provided a tour to the group of which only had ever visited the museum in the past and shared interesting facts.

As JPCC director Wilda Smith observed an obvious favorite of the group was seeing the special room that honors former Louisiana Governor Jimmie Davis.

“As the group exited the Jimmie Davis room, they were all singing You Are My Sunshine,” said Smith.

The Jackson Parish Museum and Fine Arts Association is open to the public from 9:00am – 1:00pm the first Saturday of each month. Tours by groups and individuals are also welcome by appointment. To arrange a tour contact Barbara Johnson at (318) 450-5561 or Wilda Smith at (318) 426-6511.
