Library Board to discuss plans for old bookmobile

Out with the old. In with the new. Now the question is what to do with the old? That is what the Jackson Parish Library Board will be discussing at their regularly scheduled monthly meeting to be held at 4:30pm on Monday, April 17th in the McBride Room at the Jonesboro Branch of the JPL, located at 624 South Polk Avenue.

Whether to sell or put up for auction the old bookmobile that was retired after the new one was put into service last month is the first item on the agenda board members Paula Essmeier, Judy Cooper, Lisa Nunn, Ann Standley, Vickie Jenkins, Robin Tew, Carol Massey and ex-officio Police Juror, Amy Magee will consider.

Also to be considered is the movement of LaCrecia Kelly from the position of Circulation/Reference Coordinator to Programming Specialist and moving Reanna Rowden from part-time to full-time status. Authorizing Director, Floyd Knox, to advertise for available positions and for Knox and two staff members to attend the Association for Rural & Small Libraries conference in Wichita, KS on September 20-23, 2023 is also expected to be approved.

Updates on current projects and discussion on what activities are planned for National Library Week, which will take place April 23-29, will precede the meeting being adjourned.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance, please contact Floyd Knox at (318) 259-5697.
