Batter Up! That is the cry being heard each weekday evening on the six fields of the Jackson Parish Recreation Department Sports Complex as the Summer Youth Baseball and Softball seasons have begun play. The season began this past Monday for all age groups except Wee-Ball and T-Ball which will begin play this week. This year there are 47 teams spread throughout 8 leagues comprised of nearly 500 young boys and girls from the ages of 3 to 13 that are taking part.
