After rainstorms washed away the meet on April 9th the sun was out on the rescheduled date of last Tuesday, but nowhere did it shine as bright as on the Jonesboro-Hodge boys and Weston girls track teams.
Competing in the annual Llewellyn Starks Invitations on the newly resurfaced track at Caldwell-Peacock Stadium the Tiger boys team had 12 podium placements (1st, 2nd, 3rd Place) in the 16 events they competed in, including winning a season-best 8 events.
The performance by the Weston girls was even more impressive as after gaining medals in a total of 10 events over the first three meets of the season, the Lady Wolves walked away with 11 in this meet alone. Adding the four second-place finishes the Lady Tigers contributed, JHHS won a total of 16 medals in all while Weston, who also had two seconds and third in the boy’s events, finished with easily a season-best 14 podium places.
