If you are concerned that all the many bass tournaments, ranging from local benefits to the professional Major League Fishing Tour event, that has been conducted on Caney Lake seemingly each week will hurt the bass population. Don’t be!
Earlier this past week the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) released fifty thousand (50,000) bass fingerlings into the lake at the State Park ramp. Yes! Fifty thousand!
They may be small now but they are certain to grow and help keep Caney Lake’s tradition of being one of the best bass fishing lakes in the nation.

LDWF put 50,000 of these bass fingerlings in Caney Lake last week.
