The Jackson Parish 11U Baseball All-Star team will one of six teams competing in the Dixie Youth State Tournament at Tinsley Park in Bossier City this Friday – Sunday, July 7th – 9th.
Leading the JP11U team is head coach Steven Moak, and assistants Juddy Rogers and Brad Spillman. Team members are: Lucas Bandy, Raylon Bradford, Jake Moak, Colten Otwell, Ryan Sandifer, Noah Spillman, Waylon Stroud, Andrew Brown, Conner Thompson, Henry Underwood, Jake Emmons, and Cason Rogers.
Jackson Parish qualified for state by finishing second in District 5 and will take on Minden at 6:00 pm on Friday on field six in their first game of Pool B play. JP11U will then play Franklinton at 9:00 am on Saturday on field six in their final pool play game. Pool A is made up of team from Bossier, Concordia Parish and Jena, who was the District 5 winner.
All teams from the two pools will advance to the Championship single elimination bracket play on Saturday and Sunday. Seeding from each pool will be by the following parameters being used in case of ties:
(1) Head to Head record between teams with same record
(2) Least runs allowed between the tied teams
(3) Least runs allowed for the tournament
(4) Most men left on base for the tournament
(5) Coin flip
