The mission of Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District (JPASD) is to provide outstanding emergency and non-emergency medical transportation services to the residents of Jackson Parish. This is accomplished through the leadership of Director Aaron Johnson and the work of the tremendously dedicate and qualified professional staff.
This week the JPASD recognizes Robbin Willis.
EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Robbin came to JPASD in 2010 as a brand new EMT fresh out of class and as we in the industry like to say, “SHE WAS GREEN”, having never worked in EMS before. All she knew was she had the desire to help others.
Since that day that is exactly what she has done.
Robbin is known to everyone to never be the type to shy away from hard work, having just been the recipient of the “Most Calls Responded To” for the year, with 572 patient contacts from May – 2022 to May – 2023.
Robbin has excelled in every aspect of her EMS career since being called to serve as a “GREEN NREMT” to her advancement as an “NR AEMT” and on to fulfill her current Supervisor role at JPASD. Her professionalism and compassion to help others during their time of need has been evident every step of the way.
She has not only served the residents of Jackson Parish, but statewide as well having worked in 8 parishes throughout the state of Louisiana and responding to more than half a dozen natural disasters nationwide.
Whether she was needed through a Federal (FEMA) or state issued deployment for a Category 4 hurricane or historic flooding in our own state, Robbin has always been the first to say “My bags are packed” and “I am ready to go.” Never once did she question how many days/weeks she was going to be away from her own family, or the danger involved.
Robbin is the epitome of what it means to serve in EMS!
Her caring nature does not end when she clocks out. She then goes home as a wife to her husband Alan of 36 years, as a mother to son Austin, (who is following in mom’s EMS footprints) and to 3 adoring grandchildren, Harper, Graysen and Jeremiah.
Her spare time is filled with loving on her grandchildren, sitting in her deer stand waiting on that big ole buck to slip up and going to all the local stores buying up every case of zero sugar Dr. Pepper within a 100-mile radius that she can find.
It has been a privilege to call Robbin one or our own and to have her represent JPASD during her continued dedication to serve others.
