Stuart Ray Taylor
November 27, 1963 – July 14, 2023

taylorStuart Ray Taylor, age 59 of Eros, ascended to his Heavenly home on Friday, July 15, 2023. He was a good hearted and outgoing man that enjoyed meeting new people and helping others. Through his 26 year working career with Music Mountain Water he was always able to meet new people with every stop. Stuart proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a family man that loved the Lord and his family above all. His children and wife were his heart and he loved them very dearly. He would want people to remember that Jesus loves you!

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nicole (Gryder) Taylor; children, Bridget Gail Taylor, James Andrew Noah Tolar and fiancé, Jordan Lynn Maza, Kylie Elisabeth Cherie Taylor, Emily Ashton Rae Taylor, Samuel Stuart Ray Taylor; grandson, Damon James Alden Tolar; mother, Peggy Sue Taylor; sisters, Karen Keane, Kelly Ann Taylor; nieces, Danyelle and Stephanie Long. He was preceded in death by his father, Truly Ray Taylor, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Truly Ray, Taylor, Sr. and Lucille Taylor; maternal grandparents, Lewis W. Frazier, Jr. and Ruby B. Frazier.

Friends may visit on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Eros United Pentecostal Church from 9:00AM until time of services. Funeral services are set to begin at 10:00AM with Reverend Ernest Twiner officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be James Gryder, Rodney Gryder, Devon Gryder, Kolton Dunn, Brendan Coughran, Justin Green. David Coughran will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Lois (Masters) Smith
October 1, 1927 – July 11, 2023

smithLois (Masters) Smith, age 95 of Jonesboro, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in Ruston. Lois was a bookkeeper for Jackson Parish Bank for many years. She was a faithful member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in Jonesboro. She loved bowling and participated in league play at Tiger Lanes for a number of years. Lois loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren unconditionally and enjoyed spending time with them whenever she could. Her favorite pastime was traveling to Branson, Missouri each year to attend the music shows with her family.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Linda Wallis and husband, Terry; son, James “Buddy” Smith and wife, Ginger; grandchildren, Todd Garrett, Stephen Garrett, Scott and Relani Garrett, Kristi and Max Migues, and Greg and Jeanie Wallis; step-grandchildren, Angela Gautreaux, Todd and Christi Wallis; 12 great-grandchildren, 2 step-great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren and 4 step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Smith, Sr.; Parents, Robert and Maggie Masters; daughter, Diane Hanes, grandson, Richie Bovard, great-grandson, Tucker Wallis; sisters, Elouise Hudson and Louise Bates; brother, Johnny K. Masters.

The funeral service was held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in Jonesboro with Bro. Randy Dark, officiating. Burial followed in the McDonald Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Serving as pallbearers was Will Wallis, Jeremy Garrett, Jonathan Garrett, Easton Garrett, Matt Garrett and Levi Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers were Greg Wallis, Stephen Garrett, Scott Garrett and Todd Garrett.
