JHHS Class of 1981 makes donation to Tiger Band

The past met the present this past week to promote the future.

For 25 years, the late Mr. Quincy Rogers, served as Band Director at Jonesboro-Hodge High School. Through his skill and devotion a countless number of musicians were given the opportunity to perform and learn how to work as a cohesive unit, leading to many earning scholarships and furthering their education.

After years of being dormant, the Tiger Band has been brought back to life to the delight of all who remember the wonderful presentations given in the past and to the excitement of those who now have the chance to show their skills.

In memory of their beloved Band Director and in support of the new endeavor, the graduating Class of 1981 has given the newly formed Tiger Band a financial gift and and encourages other JHHS graduating classes to do the same.

In the banner above, Mr. Stephen Treadway, representing the Class of ’81, is shown  presenting current JHHS Band Director, Mr. Trey Porchay, with a generous monetary donation in memory of Mr. Rogers and in support of the new endeavor.

The JHHS administration and Tiger Band is greatly appreciative of the Class of ’81 and all who have shown their devotion to their alma mater.
