Not even the scorching heat could damper the excitement of the players and coaches as JHHS opened fall practice on Monday. Entering into his 11th season as head coach, which is the longest tenure in JHHS football history, Terrance Blankenship and staff led a charge of 36 players on to the field in preparation of the 2023 season.
The Tigers will host Glenbrook Academy and Booker T. Washington High School out of Shreveport on August 18th for a three team, round robin, scrimmage on August 18th. This will be followed by JHHS taking on St. Frederick of Monroe on Saturday, August 26th in the annual pre-season Bayou Jamb that will be played at West Monroe High School. The ten-game regular season schedule begins on Friday, September 1 when JHHS hosts General Trass of Lake Providence, one of five games that will be played at Caldwell-Peacock Stadium this year.
Tiger fans who are planning on attending the Bayou Jamb, are asked to purchase tickets to the Bayou Jamb through the main office at JHHS instead of waiting to buy at the gate on game day.
“It will be a great benefit to us if all who are planning to go to the Bayou Jamb will purchase their tickets in advance at the JHHS office,” said Blankenship. “We get all the revenue from advance ticket sales but only a portion from tickets bought at the gate.”
