Whether it was races for the young, old, short or tall, it didn’t matter, the Wolverines won them all!

Quitman Cross Country closed out their 2023 regular season schedule by winning 8 of the 9 divisions that were run in the Weston Invitational this past Saturday. Ten schools from as far away as Vicksburg, MS competed in the event held at the Jackson Parish Recreation Department Sports Complex.

Schools competing were: Calvin, Castor, Claiborne Christian, Downsville, Northeast LA Home School (Bastrop) Quitman, Ruston Christian Homeschoolers, Saint Aloysius High School (Vicksburg), Simsboro Elementary and host Weston. 

Adding to the impressive showing by the Wolverines were first and second place finishes in five of the nine races and 31 top ten finishes. Weston also did well with ten runners finishing in the top ten of the various races as did two runners from Jackson Parish that competed for Ruston Christian Homeschoolers (RSH). 

Elementary and Junior High runners will now turn their attention to the Louisiana State Championship meet that will be held at The Gospel in Choudrant on October 28th. Varsity runners will compete in regional competition on November 4th with the LHSAA state championship meet being held on November 13th in Natchitoches.
