WHS “Fab Four” hangs another banner

The way the “Fab Four” keeps winning FFA events, Weston High School is going to have to find some more room in the Ag Building for all the banners that are being won. Nicknamed the “Fab Four” because of their continued and unprecedented success year in and year out, the team of Cory Tucker, Cejay Colvin, Collin Shows, and Abel McBride, hung yet another banner this past week after placing 4th overall at the State FFA Agronomy CDE in Ruston.

This is the beginning of the third year for these four students on their journey through their FFA career. After winning their first banner in state competition as freshmen, on the ride home they made up their minds to see just how many banners they could accumulate over their 4 years of high school.

The idea was that it would serve as motivation for others in the chapter to try their hardest and learn as much as possible through the agriculture and FFA programs. At this time they are working on having an entire corner of the classroom of just State FFA banners they have won.

Making the showing all the more impressive is that three of the four team members have also been splitting time training to compete at the National CDE in Food Science at the end of the month which will be held in conjunction with the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN.

It would probably be a good idea to make room for another banner!
