Tayt Culpepper of Weston High School has committed to play golf for Southwest Mississippi Community College. The multi-talented athlete agreed to the scholarship offer on Monday, November 6th and will enroll in the fall of 2024 where he will major in pre-engineering.
Culpepper was a regular top ten finisher in the Northeast Louisiana Front-Nine Tour this past spring and finished 14th at the Division IV State Championships held in Crowley, LA where he was one of only a few who improved their score on the second day of competition.
His ability to shine on the biggest stage doesn’t end there either. Last spring, Culpepper won several games on the mound and batted .308 to help lead Weston to the Division IV state semi-finals in baseball.
An official signing ceremony will be held at a later date.
