
An enjoyable evening was had by all who attended the 2024 annual Jackson Parish Chamber of Commerce banquet held at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church on Monday, April 1st.
The celebration of community achievements event was a testament to the spirit and dedication within the parish. The night kicked off with a delightful appetizers, setting the stage for an evening filled with camaraderie and recognition.
Attendees had the opportunity to participate in a silent auction, adding an element of excitement to the festivities. The highlight of the evening was the distinguished guest speaker, Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. Known for his passion for Louisiana, Lieutenant Governor Nungesser delivered a video presentation highlighting the reasons to love our state.
Awards were presented to Jackson Parish Sheriff Andy Brown and Eric Taylor, the plant manager of WestRock, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the chamber. Their dedication to the betterment of Jackson Parish was applauded by all in attendance.
Karen Tolar, president expressed her appreciation and support of the 24 corporate sponsors which demonstrated a strong commitment to both the chamber and the Parish, showing their dedication to the growth and prosperity of our community.
Special presentations were made to outgoing president Yumeaka Washington thanking her for her leadership during her year as president. Expressing appreciation to Wilda Smith, the Director of the Jackson Parish Chamber was commended for her steadfast leadership and unwavering commitment to the community.
