
Thomas Morgan “Tommy” Peel

Thomas Morgan “Tommy” Peel, 76, passed away in Alexandria, Louisiana on Sunday, April 7, 2024, after a brief illness. He was born on July 26, 1947, in Jonesboro, Louisiana. Tommy graduated from Quitman High School and attended Louisiana Tech University. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and greatly enjoyed following LSU sports. Tommy also coached Little League for many years in Jackson Parish. Tommy began his career at Louisiana Tech. He then worked for the Jackson Parish Police Jury for a number of years and he also worked as a crane operator for Weyerhaeuser and West Rock.
Tommy is survived by his children, Joe Peel (Melanie) and Sarah Beth Toms (Justin); grandchildren, Anna Claire Peel, Aaron Peel, Selwyn Toms and Stella Toms; sister, Debbie Willis (Shady); brother, Randy Peel (Zadie); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his father, Floyd Morgan Peel and his mother, Arlette (Swanner) Peel.
Friends may visit with the family at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro, Louisiana from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Antioch Cemetery near Quitman, Louisiana.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Aaron Peel, Justin Toms, Ron Smelley, and Larry Duck.
