For those who are not familiar with golf, the objective is to make par on the hole you play. This means that you have hit your ball from the tee box into the hole on the green in the number of strokes that are designated for that hole. If par was four and you completed the hole in four strokes, then you made par.
Even better is making a birdie. That is when you hit the ball from the tee box into the hole on the green in one shot less than what is listed as par for the hole. That is what Brad Porter, Roby Surber, Dennis Robertson, Robert Price, and Nick Wroch did on nine times on Tuesday, April 23rd at the Jackson Parish Golf Course. As result the five-some earned first place in the weekly Tuesday Scramble with a scored of 9 under par on the nine hole tournament layout.
Each Tuesday, the Jackson Parish Golf Course hosts a scramble tournament for members and guests. To register call the JPGC at 318-259-7247 or sign up in the pro shop at least 30 minutes before tournament start.
