ALERT: Bridges closures in Jackson Parish to affect traffic

Three separate bridge closures will affect traffic patterns in Jackson Parish over the next couple of weeks. The announcement was made by the Louisiana Department of Transportation (DOTD) this past week when indicating where specific bridges will be closed for repairs.

The first set of bridges that the DOTD closed on Saturday, August 17th were on LA 4 East of Chatham. Officials indicated that the bridges closed are approximately 4.2 miles east and 5 miles east of the LA 34 & LA 4 intersection in Chatham. The closure is expected to last for two days.

The LA 813-3 bridge over the Little Dugdemona River in Jackson Parish will be closed on Monday, August 19, 2024. The closure is expected to last two weeks, reopening on Friday, August 30, 2024. All vehicles must detour using an alternate route with signs posted detouring to LA 147, US 167, and LA 813-3.

DOTD appreciates drivers’ and motorists’ patience and reminds them to be careful when driving along the route. For more information, call 318 – 549 – 8402 or visit http://www.dotd.la.gov/
