Chamber of Commerce holds Fundraiser for Christmas Park / Santa Float Upgrade

On Saturday, October 12th, the Jackson Parish Chamber of Commerce held a “Shrimp Boil” Fundraiser to help with costs in upgrading and providing a facelift to the Christmas Park and the Santa Float.

Highlighting the special event that was held in the parking lot of the JPCC office, located at 601 South Cooper Avenue in Jonesboro, was the generous donation of shrimp by Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser.

“The shrimp boil was truly a great success, with the community coming together to support the Chamber’s first event of this kind. Big thanks to Eric Borland, Glen Kirkland, and Randy Layfield for doing an excellent job with the cooking, and to the board members who helped with filling plates and distributing. The support from everyone who sold or purchased tickets is much appreciated,” said JPCC Director Wilda Smith.

Additional donations are being accepted and will be greatly appreciated so that the annual Christmas in the Pines Festival can continue to be the wonderful calling card for visitors to come to Jackson Parish.

Donations can be made by coming to the Jackson Parish Chamber of Commerce office during normal hours of operation or by calling (318) 259-4693 for more information on how you can make your contribution.
