Balanced Scoring lifts Weston past FCCS

A balanced attack that saw four players reach double figures but all be within three points of each other lifted Weston to a 55-52 victory over a spirited Family Community Christian team on Tuesday giving the Wolves a split of their two games this past week. On Thursday, Saline took a 68-56 victory in the Calvin Tournament to drop the Wolves to 2-3 on the year. 

Weston 55 FCCS 52 (Tuesday) – Bryce Zehr, who led Weston with 13 points, nailed a pair of clutch free throws to give Weston and 54-52 lead and Daniel Williams, who had 10 points and 7 rebounds added the final dagger to give the Wolves the hard fought victory. Nathin Wages also went 10 and 7 for the Wolves while Brody Tidwell chipped in with a new season high 12 points. Dawson Clifton scored six and Lajavion Harris finished with four. 

Saline 68 Weston 56 (Thursday) – Nathin Wages poured in 18 points but Saline outscored the Wolves 41-23 in the first and third quarters combined to saddle Weston with the loss in the Calvin Tournament. Daniel Williams also had a good game scoring 10 points and pulling down a team leading 9 rebounds. Lajavion Harris added eight points, Bryce Zehr scored seven and Brody Tidwell had six for the Wolves.  Gavyn Dailey led Saline with 21 and Eli Ferguson added 16 for Saline.
