Carly Jo Griffin scored 20 points to help lift Weston to an impressive 52-49 victory over Class 5A West Ouachita and improve to an area best 10-4 mark among girls high school teams. The loss by the Lady Chiefs was the first of the year after starting the season by winning 10 straight. Briley Peterson scored 9 and Anslee Aldy ended the night with 8 points and 6 boards Rachel Bandy scored 6 and Carlynn Waters added five to go along with Nadia Siadek’s 4 points for Weston.

Nathin Wages posted his second best scoring total of the season with 19 points but a strong second half by West Ouachita lifted the Chiefs to their 11th victory in 12 games. With a fourth loss in the last five games, Weston fell to 5-9 on the year. Bryce Zehr also reached double digits in scoring with 13 followed by 6 points from Brody Tidwell. Dawson Clifton added three and Lajavion Harris scored 2 and pulled down a team high 8 rebounds.
