
Weston High won two of three games played at the Choudrant Invitational to improve their record to 11-6 and move up to #2 in the LHSAA Class B baseball power rankings. The Wolves opened the tourney by dropping a heartbreaking 9 inning contest against Family Community in what was a battle between the top two ranked teams in Class B. Weston came back with a vengeance in the nightcap on Friday by smashing the tourney host Choudrant 16-6 before ending their weekend with an impressive 8-3 victory over Hamburg.
Lady Wolves lose first of the year
Cedar Creek scored 8 runs in the bottom of the first leading to a 14-4 victory over Weston that gave the Lady Wolves their first loss of the season after opening with three straight victories. Weston scored their four runs in top of the fourth inning on the strength of a pair of two run home runs by Rachel Bandy, Molly Beaubouef that scored Hailey Chatham and Jaylin Williams as well.
