
Jackson Parish voters overwhelmingly supported the renewal of a couple of Parishwide Propositions that will renew the tax millage so that the Jackson Parish Police Jury can continue to provide street and solid waste services.
With a total of 1,179 voters casting ballots, Parishwide Proposition #1, which called for a .6% S&U Tax Renewal, drew 786 yes votes against 393 no’s, equivalent to a 2:1 margin of 67% to 33%.
A total of 1,181 voters across the 31 precincts in the parish cast 804 yes votes and 377 no votes for Parishwide Proposition #2, which called for a .4% S&U tax renewal for an even wider margin of victory of 68% – 32%.
In Eros, 14 people cast ballots, all voting for a 1% S&U Tax as well as an M&VC tax.
