Regional Manager Vilma Sneed, representing Smurfit Westrock’s legislative and regulatory interests on the state and local level and government relations, along with James Bradford, former Regional Government Affairs Manager for Smurfit Stone and now a consultant for Smurfit Westrock, visited the Louisiana Legislature on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Smurfit Westrock shared in sponsoring a cookout for the President of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and their staff at the Pentagon Barracks on the grounds of the Louisiana State Capitol. Members of the Senate and House were also in attendance.
Attending this event as sponsors allowed Sneed and Bradford to meet with several legislators and express their appreciation for their support of Smurfit Westrock. They also explained to the legislators the importance of the Hodge Mill to the Company and the citizens of Jackson Parish and Northeast Louisiana.
Of special interest was Sneed’s ability to meet the legislators who directly represented Smurfit Westrock, which included having the opportunity to speak with District 13 Representative Jack McFarland, Chairman of Appropriations, where she thanked him personally for his support of Smurfit Westrock as well as offering continued support to him.

The steak and chicken prepared by James Bradford were a hit among the attendees
