Last week, it was announced that Amy Magee’s brother Scott, had been selected to be inducted into the Jackson Parish Sports Hall of Fame in October, seemingly the first of Sammy and Nelda Carter’s offspring to earn such acclaim.
As it turned out his sister beat him to it!
On Sunday, August 9th the Magee family, along with Jackson Parish 4-H Director Kristina Bourgeous, descended on Camp Grant Walker located just outside of Pollock, LA, for the annual Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, where 11 distinguished individuals, including the Weston native Magee, were enshrined.
The Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame was created in 2008 during the 100th Anniversary of Louisiana 4-H. The Hall of Fame annually recognizes up to twelve outstanding 4-H volunteers, leaders, and/or Extension retirees who have dedicated themselves and service to the youth of the 4-H program and our state.
