
The Students of the Year for 2025-26 at Jonesboro-Hodge High School (JHHS) , Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School (JHMS), and Jonesboro-Hodge Elementary School (JHES) have been announced.
Destiny Smith is the honoree from Jonesboro-Hodge High School, while Shan Stallings is the Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School representative, and Sophia Higgins was selected as Student of the Year at Jonesboro-Hodge Elementary School.
Jonesboro-Hodge Schools Students of the Year
High School Division – Destiny Smith: The daughter of John and Shauna Smith plans on going to Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, and majoring in English with a minor in psychology. At Jonesboro-Hodge High School, Destiny is a member of the Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Tiger Talk, and participates in Drama, while also serving as the school photographer.
Junior High School Division – Shan Stalling: An exceptional 8th-grade student at Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School, Shan has earned this honor through his outstanding academic performance, exemplary behavior, and high LEAP test scores. Beyond the classroom, Shan is an active member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, participates in the school band, and plays AAU basketball, demonstrating leadership, discipline, and dedication both academically and athletically. We are proud of Shan’s accomplishments and excited to see all he will achieve in the future!
Elementary School Division – Sophia Higgins: The daughter of Nathaniel and granddaughter of Paula Higgin,s and is one of 8 siblings! In addition to her exceptional academic performance, she enjoys playing basketball, hanging out with friends, watching movies, and dancing. Her positive disposition and eagerness to serve others inspire her to become a future surgeon.
