Jimmie Davis State Park is pleased to announce that the ongoing sewer upgrade project that began this past March is expected to be completed in the next several weeks. 

In addition to having full sewer hookups at every campsite, the project that is funded by the Louisiana Office of State Parks will also provide for 50-amp electrical service as part of a statewide initiative to modernize park facilities.

Brandon Burris, Assistant Secretary of Louisiana State Parks, emphasized the importance of these upgrades.

“We roughly have 1,700 campsites across the state of Louisiana and only 4 percent of them have sewer hookups. We’ve made it our mission to get those sewer hookups replaced, and we’ve gone hard at it.”
