Stacy Demoran Allbritton, a local author with a love of Louisiana History spoke to the Jonesboro Study Guild recently. A former teacher and a native of New Orleans, Stacy told her story of how she got into writing and how her love of Louisiana history and genealogy was the result of a cemetery visit with her Grandmother when she was 11 years old.
That love, coupled with her dream of writing for little girls, led to her first book “The Diary of Marie Landry, Acadian Exile” which is a history of the Louisiana Cajuns and was published in 2008. Her second book “The Journal of Elaine Nicaise” is a history of the Louisiana French Creoles. Stacy is currently working on her third book.
