Charlotte “Mamaw” Pool
February 5, 1947 – April 18, 2026
Charlotte Ann Pool, age 79, passed away on April 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. Affectionately known as “Mamaw” to all who knew her, she was spirited, humorous, and wonderfully feisty, bringing joy and strength to every life she touched. For more than 20 years, she faithfully served her community as a school bus driver, caring for generations of children along her routes.
Charlotte found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—tending a vegetable garden alongside her beloved late husband, Richard, spending time hunting and fishing, and enjoying a good day of shopping. Above all, she cherished her family, who were the center of her world and the recipients of her boundless love.
Charlotte is survived by her children, Stephanie Hunt & husband, Earnest, Lavelle “Bo” Pool & wife, Lisa, April Pool and Brandy Pool; grandchildren, Justin Roark, Taylor Chestnut, Camden Mire, Jace Shelton, Megan Burnaman and Hayden Mire; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Anderson; and brother, Jimmy Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Richard L. Pool; father, Charles W. Taylor; mother, Ruth (Maza) Taylor; and brother, Charles Wesley Taylor.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A graveside funeral service will take place at Salem Cemetery (Century Loop, Eros, LA) at 1:00 PM with Bro. Frank Wood officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Pool, Justin Roark, Camden Mire, Chance Chestnut, Brayden Theriot and Sawyer Watkins.

Octavious “Frank” Atkins was called to be with the Lord on April 11, 2026 at the age of 35 years old. A Public Viewing will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, April 24th at the Paradise Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro. The Life Celebration Service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 25th at the Paradise Funeral Home Chapel.
