Election 2026: JPSO Law Enforcement Tax Renewal & LA Constitutional Amendments

Early Voting has begun and continues through May 9th in Jackson Parish and across the state, as voters go to the polls to make their selections in local, state, and federal races, as well as the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Millage Renewal and Louisiana Constitutional Amendments. 

In this edition of the Jackson Parish Journal, detailed information is provided on the effect on the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office if the millage, which has been in place for the past 45 years, is not renewed, as well as the pros and cons of the constitutional amendments as presented by PAR, a nonpartisan, independent nonprofit organization that analyzes proposed constitutional amendments and provides educational guides for voters.
