The stage setting for the Class B state playoff matchup is nothing new for Weston High School. For the past five years in a row, the Wolves have reached the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
The hope is that Weston will beat Holden on Friday to earn a fourth straight trip to the semi-finals and a state tournament berth in Sulphur. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 pm at Mike Staples Field on the Weston High campus. If the weather becomes a problem and leaves the field unplayable as it did for the Regional round contest, then the game would be moved to the Jackson Parish Recreation Department Sports Complex.
The #4 seed and District 1B champion Woves advanced by beating Anacoco 4-3 in the Regional round to improve to 23-12 on the year, while District 7B and #5 seed Holden checks in at 17-14 overall.
