
Pam Bolton, who graduated from Jonesboro-Hodge High School in 1975, has been inducted into the North Carolina Track and Field / Cross Country Hall of Fame.
Bolton, who was the first-ever female president of the North Caroline Track and Cross Country Coaches Association, was selected following a stellar 26-year career (1991 – 2017) as track and field coach at Hendersonville High School and 24 years as an official with various governing bodies (USATF, NFHS, NCHSAA).
While at Hendersonville, Bolton earned 16 coach of the year honors, coached 2 NCHSAA girls’ Athletes of the Year (across all sports), won 14 outdoor track conference championships, 9 West Regional titles (and 5 runner-ups), and helped 6 teams and 61 individuals win state titles.
Following her graduation from JHHS, Bolton earned her degree in Education from Louisiana Tech University in 1981. Her coaching career began in her home state of Louisiana, where she made stops at Slidell High School and her alma mater, Jonesboro-Hodge High School, before moving to North Carolina to take over the Hendersonville High School track and field program.
