Jackson Parish Sheriff Brent Barnett announces that the recipient of the 2026 Louisiana Sheriff’s Association scholarship for Jackson Parish is Larsen Thomas of Quitman High School.

Maintaining an outstanding 4.21 GPA (grade point average) and scoring a 27 on the ACT exam, the son of Wayne and Kari Thomas, plans to major in accounting and business management at Louisiana Tech University. Congratulations on your accomplishments and best wishes on your future endeavors.

The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association (LSA) awards scholarships to graduating high school students in parishes where the Sheriff is a member of the Honorary Membership Program. The program is designed to help students further their education at in-state institutions of higher learning.
