The Jackson Parish Golf Course (JPGC), located at 524 Clubhouse Drive in Jonesboro, LA, was closed to public play on Saturday, May 30th, as the course was reserved by Smurfit Westrock in Hodge for the annual Taylor & Ballew Charity Golf Scramble for employees and vendors.
Using a format where each player tees off, then each plays the next shot from the site of the best ball, and so on until the hole is finished, each team of three played 18 holes, with cash prizes awarded for the top three places in each flight.
Taking first place in the championship flight was Tayt Culpepper, Pete Simonelli, and JD Trettin, who scorched the JPGC for an impressive round of 55, which was 17 under par. Coming in second place were Marshall Boggs, Hudson Pullig, and Brent Pullig after combining for a round of 58, one stroke better than the third-place team of Robbie Riehn, Chad Roden, and Brad Porter.
The first flight was decided by a scorecard playoff with Shane Lily, Blake Hargett, and Jeff Bass taking first place over Drew Huddleston, Cason Womack, and Eli Hall after both teams shot a round of 68. After shooting 69, third place went to Wyndham Lee, Layton Lamb, and Todd Strozier.
