The All-Star teams from Jackson Parish that will compete in the Dixie Youth baseball and softball District and hopefully state tournaments have been selected. There are 11 teams in total that will represent Jackson Parish, comprising seven boys teams competing in the 6U, 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, and 11U divisions and four girls teams competing in the 6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U divisions.
Each have begun practicing and in some cases playing warm-up tournaments to get prepared for the upcoming District tournaments that will be taking place from June 19-29 with the hopes of earning the right to compete in the various state tournaments that will be held July 2-5.
The Jackson Parish Recreation Department will host the 6U. 8U. 10U and 12U Dixie Youth Softball District Tournaments, but all Dixie Youth Baseball District Tournaments will be played in either Haughton (10U), Minden (7U), Bossier City (9U & 11U), or Shreveport (8U). Both the Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball State Tournaments are scheduled at sites across Louisiana, ranging from Bossier/Shreveport to New Orleans and locations in between.
In anticipation of the significant costs associated with lengthy travel, meals, and most likely hotel stays, several of the All-Star teams are holding fundraisers to help offset the costs for parents. You are asked to please support the families of the youth players through the fundraisers shown below, as there is no other financial assistance that will be available other than outright donations to the teams.
