The Village of Chatham held its regularly scheduled Council meeting on Tuesday, June 09, 2026, in the Conference Room of Town Hall, located at 1709 Oak Street in Chatham. Present were Mayor Gregory Harris and council members Toni Malone, Sue Proffer, and Bernadine James.

Once the session was called to order by Mayor Harris, the minutes from regular meeting held on May 12, 2026 and payment of monthly bills was approved by all followed by the Ruston Daily Leader being named as the Official Journal for the Village and building permit 2026.05 being approved.

Resolution 2026.01 – Jackson Parish Hazard Mitigation plan and Resolution 2026.02 – Debit card for PURF account were then adopted. The Council then agreed to end the lease with Jackson Parish School Board and Family Hardware and decided not to cut off Lawrence Johnson’s water due to a billing error. The acceptance of financial statements was the final action taken before adjournment.
