2026 LEAP Assessment Celebrated by Jackson Parish School District

The 2026 LEAP Assessments have been released by the Louisiana Department of Education for the 2025-26 school year, showing that Louisiana students have reached the highest level of core subject Mastery in the state’s history, with the rate improving to 36%. Louisiana also increased the number of students with a Basic+ level of understanding in core subjects, rising to 62%.

Louisiana is the most rapidly improving state in the nation with 75% of school systems showing improvement and ranking #1 among states for reading growth and 2 in math growth. Marked increases of note include:
Gain of 7 points since 2023 in Civics/History Mastery
3rd grade reading proficiency up 54% in 2024 and 64% in 2026
