Christian McGuire Nominated to Attend Pre-Medical Congress Honors Program

Christian McGuire, the 2025 Jonesboro-Hodge High School graduate who is attending Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, on a dual academic/athletic scholarship, has been nominated for the Pre-Medical Congress Honors Program.

The honors program, where top students learn directly from leaders in the medical field, is for college students striving to become physicians or medical scientists. Delegates are nominated by teachers for their outstanding academic achievement after maintaining a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) or higher.

“We are very pleased to see Christian get rewarded for the effort he is giving,” said Jonesboro-Hodge High School head football and track coach Terrance Blankenship. “He was the kind of guy that every coach dreams of having. What he accomplished in athletics and in the classroom is a great example for our athletes and the entire student body to follow. We continue to wish him the best and have full confidence he will succeed in his endeavors athletically and academically.”

Majoring in Exercise Science with plans to become a Sports Medicine Doctor, McGuire was an outstanding student-athlete at Jonesboro-Hodge, earning not only a scholarship from Tulane University, recognized as one of the top institutions of higher learning in the United States, but also the prestigious National Football Foundation Scholarship.

Through his dedication to academic excellence and focus on becoming a medical professional, McGuire was selected to attend Tulane University’s pre-med summer residential program as a junior at JHHS before graduating from high school as a member of the National Honor Society. While at Tulane, he has become a Presidential member of Tulane’s Honor Society and National Society of Leadership and Success.
