As Jackson Parish Schools prepares for the 2026–2027 school year, we are taking proactive steps to protect classroom instruction while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Due to anticipated reductions in MFP funding and the loss of the property tax renewal, the district is implementing cost-saving measures effective immediately.
These measures include carefully reviewing staffing and hiring decisions, limiting nonessential travel and purchases, reducing discretionary spending and overtime, postponing facility projects unrelated to health or safety, reviewing contracts for potential savings, increasing energy conservation efforts, and closely evaluating operational expenses across the district.
Our priority remains clear: to preserve instructional quality, protect opportunities for our students, minimize the impact on students and employees, and maintain the long-term financial stability of Jackson Parish Schools.
Thank you to our employees, families, and community members for your continued support and understanding as we work together to make responsible decisions for the future of our district.
