30,000 miles! That is how far Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District (JPASD) emergency transport vehicles traveled in August for Interfacility Transfers, ensuring Jackson Parish residents received the specialty care they needed. To put that in perspective, that is more than a full trip around the entire globe!

Running an emergency fleet takes a lot of moving parts. Our vehicles are essentially packed with heavy, life-saving equipment and constantly responding to urgent calls—they average about 9 mpg. But every single mile driven represents a neighbor helped, a life supported, and a community protected. The Jackson Parish Ambulance Service District is incredibly proud of the dedicated crews who keep these vehicles moving safely around the clock.

In August, the JPASD received 352 calls for service. In 256 of those calls, transport was needed, with Interfacility Transfers representing 19.9% of the volume. Another 63 times, callers were treated in place with no transport; 19 times JPASD was on standby or gave public assists; and 11 calls were canceled.
