Village of Chatham Council Members Introduce 2026-27 Budget Ordinance

The Village of Chatham, LA, held its regularly scheduled council meeting on Tuesday, September 8th, in the Town Hall conference room at 1709 Oak Street. Council members Toni Malone, Sue Proffer, and Bernadine James, along with Chatham Mayor Gregory Harris, were present.

The session began with approval of the minutes from the August meeting and authorization to pay monthly bills. By unanimous decision, Resolution 2026.02, which set the Millage Rate for 2026, was adopted, followed by the introduction of Ordinance 2026.02 regarding the budget for 2026-27.

The council then approved Building Permit 2026.05, followed by the council agreeing to allow Mayor Harris to waive sewer service charges for customer Jaclyn Hensley for the month of August. Approval of the financial statements concluded the session.
