The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announces that squirrel and rabbit season opens 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯, statewide!

These hunts are an affordable way to spend time outdoors and introduce young people to hunting. Squirrel and rabbit hunting are relatively inexpensive, and many LDWF public lands offer hunting opportunities.

Hunters 18 and older need a basic hunting license. If you’re heading to an LDWF Wildlife Management Area (WMA), remember that visitors 18 and older need a qualifying license or WMA Access Permit, and hunters must check in and out.
