The Heritage Quilt Guild (HGQ) of Jonesboro held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, October 7th. The session was highlighted by Town of Jonesboro Mayor James “Spike” Harris receiving a Veteran’s Quilt in honor of his two terms of service, one in the United States Marine Corps and another in the United States Air Force.

“I can’t tell you how honored and humbled I am to receive this beautiful Veteran’s Quilt,” said Harris. “I gratefully accept this in the spirit of all the men and women from Jackson Parish and beyond who have worn the uniform and served our country.”

Following, HGQ members submitted all the quilted backpacks to be presented to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in December and then held their always enjoyable “Show and Tell” portion of the meeting.
