K9 Nico Retires from Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office After 7 Years of Service

After seven years of dedicated service, K9 Nico has officially retired from the Jackson Parish
Sheriff’s Office (JPSO). Throughout his career, Nico served the JPSO and the citizens of Jackson Parish in several ways, including multiple canine apprehensions, narcotics work, and community outreach.

Most recently, Nico served alongside his handler, Deputy AJ Blundell. The bond between a K9 and handler is a special one, built through training, time spent working together, and trust. JPSO thanks Nico for his service to Jackson Parish and recognizes Deputy Blundell for the time and dedication he has put into their partnership.

Nico has definitely earned the chance to enjoy retirement, with a little more rest, a few extra
treats, and plenty of time off duty.

Happy Retirement!
