Law Enforcement Appreciation Week being celebrated

On October 1, 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed into law a declaration that on May 15th of each year a National Peace Officers Memorial Day will be celebrated as a national holiday. Included each year, whatever week May 15th falls into, is commonly known as Law Enforcement Appreciation Week which this year runs from Sunday, May 9th to Saturday, May 15th.

“I would like to say thank you to all the men and women that make up the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Center for their dedication and sacrifice they make daily. Your work does not go unnoticed,” said Jackson Parish Sheriff Andy Brown.  “I salute you and all Law Enforcement across our Nation!”
